The International Young Opera Singers Contest “CITTÀ DI BOLOGNA 2010” does not only represent a
mere competition and show off contest for young singers,but it gives a unique opportunity of artistic and
professional growth.
Without any additional costs and with the possibility of free of charge lodging, the selected artists will
be able to attend the Specialization Stage (free) held by the artistic director, M. Cinzia Forte.
Winners and finalists will have the possibility to perform in an opera promoted by
the Association and staged in the wonderful cornice of the Teatro da camera “ALESSANDRO
GUARDASSONI” in Bologna, in the Teatro del Popolo in Concordia (MO)and in the Teatro D’Antona Biagi of Castel Maggiore (BO).
The Progetto Cultura Teatro Guardassoni will promote various concert and events with a specially attention to Baroque repertoire.

RULES
1)The contest is opened to candidates of every nationality who did not hold professional principal roles in traditional theatres, foundations, festivals, except in little theatres, academy or young singers projet.
2)Categories:
A: Born from january, 1st 1975
B: Born before january, 1st 1975
3)All the candidates are supposed to present four complete arias in their original language and tone, freelychosen from the operatic repertoire (from Monteverdi to XX century). At least two arias will have to be in the Italian language. Optional: an other aria (the 5th) from oratorio, sacred music or lied.
4)The auditions will take place 4th june, 5th june and 6th june 2010. Each candidate will be asked to perform an aria among those that were originally scheduled. The jury has the faculty to request another musical excerpt (or a portion of it) among those that were originally scheduled.
5)Singer may come up with their pianist or collaborate with an Association’s pianist. As possible rehearsal will schedulated with the pianist when needed.
6)After audition the singers may talk with the jury.
7)June 6th, Sunday, after heard all the candidates, the jury will proclamed ten finalist.They will partecipate to the stage. The jury can chose also listeners.
8)The stage will hed from Monday 7 june to Frieday 11 june rehearsing the final concert. Tutore will be Cinzia FORTE (vocal interpretation), Davide LIVERMORE (stage) and Roberta PEDROTTI (analysis and philology). Singers will study with pianists too.
9)Lodgement is free of charge for finalists overnight stay is available throughout the whole duration of listener. Facilities for lodge and restoration will be actived for all candidates.
10)The GALA of finalists with winners’ announcement will be on Saturday 12 june in the Teatro Guardassoni. Finalist and other suitable candidates will sing in the opera Teatro Guardassoni will staging in 2010/2011 in Bologna, Castel Maggiore (BO) and Concordia (MO). Finalists will reported to next CantoFestival ofAmandola (AP).

Operatic debut in the 3th "Un palcoscenico per giovani talenti" (young talents on stage project), in collaboration with ALPACOM of Concordia, Concordia and Castel Maggiore towns, Lions Club and CNA of Bologna.
First prize Turrita of Comune di Bologna and 1.200 euro (Lions club)
Second prize Targa Collegio S.Luigi and Premio Coop Adriatica (valuted 1000 euro)
Third prize 500 euro (Cusnolado Honorario de Mexico avvocato Paolo Zavoli)
Baroque prize targa Farinelli (Centro studi Farinelli) and 500 euro (dott. Claudio Tedeschi, DISMECO srl, Bologna)
Targa CNA to best singer in category B
Targa Comune di Castel Maggiore to most intersting young talent
Uncalm (Unione Nazionale Circoli e Associazioni Liriche e Musicali) will organize a recital with the finalist in one of his associated circles.
11)It is up to the jury to cancel or to add any awarding prizes or scholarships.
12)The Jury reserves the right to introduce changes in the following regulation. All the decisions are not liable.
13)The Tribunal of Bologna is competent in settling any eventual controversy.
14)Italian text is ever the legal reference.
